A Time to Say Thank You

Can you believe that it is already November? We say it all the time, but time really does fly. The beginning of the school year has come and gone, and before you know it, the craziness of the holiday season will be here in full force. That is actually what makes the sweet month of November so very special. November gives us a specifically defined time to reflect and remember all of the things we have to be so grateful for.

Throughout the month, there are many ways to celebrate and recognize this feeling of gratitude and thankfulness with your own children.

  • As a family, you can make a list or chart full of the things each person is thankful for. It doesn’t have to be fancy. A sheet of paper from a notepad can work. Or you could get artsy and make an actual poster and keep it out as a seasonal decoration. It’s not about the looks, it’s about celebrating the things we have to be thankful for.

  • Make sure to lead by example. Model for your children by talking to them about the things YOU are thankful for. This can be as easy as a conversation in the carpool line, or a quick talk at bedtime.

  • You can also take some time this month to just express gratitude to those around you. Have your kids help you make or decorate thank you cards. Deliver them (in person or send in the mail) to someone that you or your child is thankful for, or to someone that has been especially kind of helpful recently. Passing along a thank you for something simple is a small gesture that can really mean a lot.

Here at Triangle Academy Preschool, we want to express our own gratitude. You might notice that this is our very first blog post, and we couldn’t think of a better way to kick things off than with a giant, heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our families. Leaving your preschool children in the care of someone else is such a big decision. We are so grateful than you have chosen us. We love the time that we get to spend with your children and are so thankful that we get to know each of their unique personalities.

Thank you for giving us such a wonderful gift.
